CULTURAL VALUES IN THE TOPONYMY OF MEDALSARI VILLAGE AND PRESERVATION MODELS TO SUPPORT TOURISM BASED ON LOCAL WISDOM IN KARAWANG REGENCY Suntoko (a*), Abduloh (b), Tedi Purbangkara(b)
Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Singaperbangsa Karawang University, Jl. HS.Ronggo Waluyo, Puseurjaya, Telukjambe Timur, Karawang, Jawa Barat 41361
Abstract
A place naming system is an ordinance or rule of naming a place at a certain time called toponymy. Etymologically, the word toponymy comes from the Greek topoi ^place^ and oama ^name^. So, literally toponymy can be interpreted as naming a place. Toponymy is a branch of onomastics that investigates place names. Something is named because it is considered important by the community that owns the culture, as well as a geographical space in which the community lives. Place names and physical objects, such as public facilities, monuments, and buildings, provide access to complex aspects of history, memory, and places.
Medalsari is administratively one of the villages in Pangkalan District, Karawang Regency, which is directly adjacent to Bogor Regency. Medalsari village is on a plateau surrounded by hills and green mountains. The sloping earth with a stretch of stepped rice fields makes Medalsari have the potential to become a tourist village. This is coupled with the existence of the Ciomas River which is famous for its Green Canyon natural attractions. Medalsari also holds ancestral cultural treasures that are still maintained today. The Medalsari people still perform some rituals passed down from generations of ancestors, such as the rituals of burning frankincense, hajat bumi, ngancak, nitipken, hanyat hidup, and rujakan. As an agrarian society, the ancestral heritage of the Medalsari community can also be seen from the irrigation management system for rice fields and the concept of stilt houses that hint at the community^s closeness to nature. With all the potential of culture and local wisdom, the National Archaeological Research Center Agency (Puslit Arkenas) built the Medalsari Civilization House. Based on this, this research was conducted to describe the lexical shape and meaning of place naming (toponymy) in the Medalsari Village area, as well as its cultural reflection.
This research uses a qualitative approach. In the process of collecting data, this study uses literature study techniques, field observations, and interviews. To find out its shape, the toponymy will be classified according to its lexical units. Then, toponymy will also be classified according to its meaning based on the results of the interview. The final stage of analysis is to analyze the cultural reflection contained in the toponymy in Medalsari Village.

Abstract
Learning a new language compared to first language is always seen more sophisticated issue. Learners often find the difficulties of how to use the words properly once they are used as part of sentence. This is because generally a new language is learnt through disintegrated ways, such as learning words one by one, looking for the translation and memorizing the words. Content-Based Instruction has been proposed to overcome this problem as it has principle of not only learn the language but also learn everything by using language. This writing is aimed at defining content-based instruction as well as presenting the steps of how this approach can be matched within the needs of vocational students acquire English vocabulary in their more specific target language purposes.

Abstract
Mathematics has a great involvement in one^s daily life so that mathematics has an important role in the world of education and everyday life. Learning mathematics for students is an activity that involves learning activities such as observing, processing, and communicating mathematical ideas. The basic abilities that must be possessed to go through these activities require the ability to understand mathematics. The background of this research is the importance of students^ mathematical understanding abilities, but from several studies it has been shown that the lack of mathematical understanding abilities is caused by a lack of learning media that constructs students^ knowledge, one of which is the use of student worksheets which only contain material and practice routine questions. The learning context can be built through various things that are close to students, one of which is sports. The sport that is currently popular with various groups and has achievements in ASIA is futsal. Therefore, this study will use futsal as a means of learning mathematics context. The purpose of this study was to determine students^ mathematical understanding skills in number operations learning activities using learning media in the context of futsal. This study used a quasi-experimental method with the non-equivalent control group design involving control and experimental classes at one of the junior high schools in Kabupaten Karawang. The instrument used was a test of mathematical understanding ability in which the data was processed in the form of descriptive statistics to see the difference in the average scores of the two classes. The results of the increase in the average value of students who use learning media in the futsal context are greater than the average value of students who do not use learning media in the futsal context in material for number operations. The mathematics learning media used in this study can be implied by being used as a learning media in the futsal context in number operations material to improve students^ mathematical understanding abilities in learning mathematics.

Based on the results of this research that teachers have an important role in the learning process, both in terms of attitudes and the way teachers teach, especially in online learning. Good and correct teaching methods will motivate and increase students^ interest in learning. Vice versa, the wrong way of teaching will make students bored and lose interest in learning. Therefore, students are sometimes lazy to participate in online learning. Especially in SMK Negeri 2 Luwuk most likely caused by the online learning process and the teacher^s teaching style factors.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang, Magelang, Indonesia, 56172
Abstract
An important demand of 21st century education is to improve students^ cognitive abilities. Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science process skills (SPS) emphasize knowing facts, relating them to other relevant information, and using them to solve new problems. Based on the data, more than 50% of the implementation of learning is not principled in the nature of science. In fact, the changes to the independent curriculum have not fully supported good learning practices. This paper aims to review the factors that influence the application of HOTS and SPS in science learning in schools. Information was collected by purposive sampling using a qualitative methodology. This study revealed that three out of nine school principals stated that they had never conducted socialization on the implementation of HOTS and SPS. Planning, implementing, and evaluating learning that is not yet mature and the teacher^s limitations in understanding are the main factors in not implementing HOTS and SPS in schools. The principal has a central role in motivating teachers in their implementation so that teachers^ perceptions of HOTS and SPS have an impact on students^ cognitive abilities.
