Politeknik Negeri Lampung

Abstract

Premium coffee has a market segmentation with high prices because it has carried out coffee bean processing following SNI standards, especially coffee quality defects. Drinking coffee is related to the effect of freshness after drinking coffee, the refreshing effect comes from the caffeine content. The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between defects in bean quality, coffee taste and caffeine content of premium coffee in the coffee industry in Kebun Tebu West Lampung. Purposive Sampling taking into account that the selected IKM is an IKM whose coffee ground products use premium coffee beans, namely from three SMIs (Raosan, Rope, and TM Coffee) processing ground coffee based on processing carried out and physical observations of coffee beans (coffee bean quality defects) with SNI 01-2907-2008, taste test based on SCAA and caffeine levels with SNI 01-3542-2004 using UV/Vis Spectrophoto-metrics. The results showed that the Small and Medium Industries (SMI) of ground coffee in the Kebun Tebu District had produced premium coffee beans with quality grades ranging from 2-3, with the type of defect that contributed to the quality of the coffee beans, namely single-holed coffee beans caused by the type of damage produced from the plantation. , and cracked beans are caused from the type of damage resulting from the processing process. The diversity of flavors resulting from the brewing of the three SMI coffees results in a special category of taste quality so that all of them have the potential to be used as a single cultivar specialty coffee. Caffeine content tends to decrease with increasing temperature in the roasting process and caffeine content exceeds the SNI limit of 0.3%. Abstract

Abstract. Briquettes are a form of renewable energy that can replace the decline in oil and gas production as a necessity for human life.Briquettes made from coconut waste have a very positive potential in environmental sustainability compared to plastic and metal waste. Improper composition of raw materials and adhesives results in quality problems, the calorific value of the briquettes is not durable and smoky contaminates the air.The proper drying process in a small-medium rotary drying machine is to produce 70% dry quality, so the use of briquettes is required to be non-smoke and have a long lasting heat value according to SNi.This research is focused on the purpose of setting the composition of raw materials and adhesives so as to produce optimal calorific value. The method applied is an experiment of 2 factors and 2 levels to 1 response according to a statistical approach using 4 replicas of data collection. The results achieved in this study were the maximum calorific value of 7.159cal/g for the composition of the raw material used for coconut shell and the type of Styrofoam adhesive. So that it has a higher ability to meet the minimum standard of Sni 5,000 cal/g or an increase of 30.16%.

Abstract

The variety of geological features and geological morphology is the location of this research very complex to be investigated further with different methods and approaches. One object very interesting research to be studied more deeply in the research area, namely the geological structure in the form of amphitheater which is the result of tectonic and sedimentary processes that have occurred over a period of time a certain geology on the island of Java regionally, specifically developing in the Karang sambung area, Kebumen. In this study, a different approach was also taken in terms of geomorphology study, namely by involving DEM data for 3D analysis purposes to make geomorphological units. Data processing produces three types of maps which include Topographic Maps, Slope Maps, DEM Maps and 3D DEM models that are aligned. DEM 3D models can perform bird views from multiple locations and directions and obtain elevation and slope information more accurately than the other two types of maps, so that it can be seen a different geomorphological description of the geological structure of the amphitheater that developed at the location study. There are 3 geomorphological units in the study area, namely plains with an area of 21% with a height difference of 0-50m and a steepness of 0-15%- Wavy area of 63.2% with a height difference of 50-200m and a steepness of 15-45%- Hilly area of 63.2% with a height difference of 350-500m and a steepness of more than 45%.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang

Abstract

Playing online games is means of entertainment for young people today. One of the most popular games in Indonesia is Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, which not only offers mobile multiplayer online battle games, but also sells virtual goods, such as heroes, skins, and virtual money (diamonds). There is a tendency for some young people to buy virtual goods impulsively so that purchases become unreasonable and cause regret. One of the factors that influence impulsive buying is self-control. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-control on impulsive buying of in-game virtual goods by Mobile Legends players. The sample of this research was 200 players aged 16-32 years who were obtained by purposive sampling. Respondents were accessed via social media and player community groups. Data were collected using self-control scale and in-game virtual goods impulsive buying scale, then analyzed using Simple Linear Regression Analysis. The results showed that self-control is statistically significant influencing the impulsive buying of in-game virtual goods (R = -.271, R2 = .073, F (1,198) = 15.668, p<0.05). The better the player^s self-control, the less likely he is to make impulsive purchases of in-game virtual goods. However, the effective contribution of the independent variable to the dependent variable is relatively small, only 7.3%. It was discussed that 92.7% of impulsive buying is probably influenced by other factors, such as age, gender, mood influences, and materialism. These findings suggest that game players do not make impulsive purchases by controlling themselves. They also need to consider finances and needs more when making a decision to buy something.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang

Abstract

Along with the development of the internet, people^s patterns of entertainment have also changed, one of which is by playing online games. One of the most played games is Garena Free Fire. This game is a Battle Royale type that combines online multiplayer video games and survival games. In addition, this game also sells virtual items in the form of functional and decorative items that can affect the fun and enjoyment of the game. The problem is, virtual goods in games is bought by children and teenagers who don^t have financial independence. One of the factors suspected of influencing purchase intention is the conformity of children and adolescents with their peers. This study aims to determine the effect of peer conformity on the intention to buy in-game virtual goods among Garena Free Fire players. The participants were 126 teenagers with the following criteria: aged 11-22 years, being an active player in the Free Fire online game for at least three months (playing individually or in squads), and having purchased virtual goods at least once. Data were collected using peer conformity scale and intention to buy in-game virtual goods scale, then analyzed using Simple Linear Regression. The results showed that the research hypothesis was not proven (R = .047, R2 = .002, F(1, 124) = .600, p>.05). The researcher conducted additional analysis to identify other factors that might explain the intention to purchase in-game virtual goods. It is recommended that future researchers examine the influence of age, economics, competitive motives (to win competitions, participate in ^mabar^ or play with friends, and collect the latest virtual items in games), and dynamics in player groups. It could be that peer conformity occurs within a player^s squad or community where players are members and not among other players in general.

Representing Local Culture Through Scent at Airports

Abstract

Abstract

The trend of aromatherapy is quite on the rise these days. Many go out of their way in order to please their olfactory senses. However, the attention of the olfactory senses in interior design is quite scarce, a field commonly associated with the visual senses. Yet, we cannot deny the fact that the ideal state of a successful interior design is when it tickles all the senses- auditory, visual, and in this case, olfactory.
While people have long embellish their rooms and houses with good-smelling aromas, attribute themselves with fragrances (which seems to be small-scale)- we rarely see that happening in a large-scale designs, such as airports.
The question remains: can we change a whole perspective towards a large environment solely by twitching the scent?
This leads us to another query, if aromatherapy and scents are often culturally-infused. We can represent a culture through scents and aromatherapy
By displaying the fragrance often associated with the place and the culture of the place, one can subconsciously make associations between the scents their smelling and memories of a place and its culture. This can be one efficient way in which interior design represents a culture.
