Experimental Study Of Performance Comparison Of Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries and Supercapacitors On Electric Motorcycles Yuan Perdana- Hermansyah
Politeknik Negeri Banjarmasin
Abstract
Electric vehicles generally use batteries for energy storage, but currently there are designs for electric vehicle energy storage using supercapacitors (SC) or a combination of batteries and SC. In previous research, an electric motorcycle was made using a Suzuki Shogun SP125 chassis and cover, 800-1000 BLDC motor and controller. This research is to get a comparison between the use of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and SC batteries that installed on electric motorbikes using 2 passenger weight variables. The data taken are mileage, speed, acceleration, and battery charging time. The LFP battery pack used consists of a 51.2Volt 18Ah LFP HX32700 battery. The capacitor used consists of 18 pieces of 2.7v 500F Capacitors arranged in series, resulting in a 48.6volt 27.78Farad supercapacitor. Tests were carried out by installing LFP and SC alternately on electric motorbikes with variable passenger weights of 67 kg and 118 kg. The results are obtained that the acceleration data with SC is higher than that with LFP, this is because the power output issued by SC is greater and faster than LFP. The disadvantage of SC in this research is that the power capacity is lower than that of LFP, resulting in a shorter electric motorcycle range.

1)Mechanical Engineering Department, Politeknik Negeri Bali, Campus Street, Kuta Selatan, Badung, Bali, 80364 Indonesia
2)Tourism Department, Politeknik Negeri Bali, Campus Street, Kuta Selatan, Badung, Bali 80364 Indonesia
Abstract
In Bali, there is an alcoholic drink that is traditionally distilled by Balinese villagers. The drink is well known as Arrack Bali distilled from fermented sap of palm flower. The use of traditional distillation equipment makes villagers unable to produce the drink with consistent quality. In fact, the demand for the quality is quite high because the drink is already in demand by foreign tourists. With these considerations, it is necessary to develop an affordable machine that is able to produce the Balinese distilled drink with good and consistent quality. This paper presents a local based distillation machine specifically developed for production of the Balinese distilled drink. The machine integrates novelties which comprise a refrigeration distiller and smart controller for both distiller and boiler. The distiller is a coil on tube heat exchanger which can absorb heat of Arrack vapor and condense it in the distiller tube. The distiller tube is cooled by refrigerant R134A which is flowing in the evaporator pipe that is coiled on the outer surface of the tube. Experimental investigation was established to evaluate the performance of the refrigerated distiller and the boiler of the novel and affordable distillation machine. The results showed that the refrigerated distiller and boiler can perform reliably with several temperature set and production process characteristics. In addition, production test results showed various good quality variants of Arrack Bali could be produced consistently with alcohol content ranging from 20% up to 40% by volume. These variants are resulted from production characteristics at boiler temperature varied from 87 up to 93 C and refrigerated distiller temperature from 5 to 27 C and corresponding production time from 1 hour up to 6 hours. Beside the potential to produce good and consistent quality Balinese distilled drink, the novel distillation machine was also found to noticeably improve the productivity of distillation process.

Abstract
Road construction on expansive soil often suffers damage because of large shrinkage properties due to changes in water content. This study aims to obtain a solution for expansive soil improvement by utilizing local materials based on industrial waste as a stabilizing agent that also help to keep nature conservation. In this study, the soil was mixed with waste foundry sand as an additive material with a concentration of 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% of the soil dry weight. Tests carried out included Compaction, California Bearing Ratio, and Swelling Potential based on ASTM standards. The soil stabilized with 10% WFS showed a significant increase in CBR value with changes of 64.89% (unsoaked) and 438.69% (soaked) to the original soil CBR value. WFS 10% in the soil was able to suppress the expansion value of the expansive soil by 93.16% to the swelling value of the original soil. WFS content of 10% in the soil can be recommended as an expansive soil stabilization material because it can increase the bearing capacity of the soil and reduce the level of swelling of the soil.

Abstract
Indonesia is one of the largest coconut producers, which in turn produces a lot of waste, especially coconut coir waste which can cause flooding if carelessly dumped in the river or carried by flood currents. Coconut coir waste that is no longer used can be reprocessed into a variety of finished and semi-finished products that have a high selling value. These products include coir fiber (Cocofibre), coir powder (Cocopeat), solid coir powder (Cocopeatbrick) cocomesh, cocopot, cocosheet, coco fiber board (CFB) and cococoir. This research aims to plan and design a machine that can process cocofiber into raw materials for its derivative products like making handicrafts such as doormats, etc. In planning and designing this machine, solidwork software and the calculation analysis method of the Sularso Machine Elements book guide were implemented. This machine is equipped with a sieve as an automatic separator between cocopeat and cocofibre in the form of a hexagonal cylinder. The machine produces cocopeat at 15 kg/hour and cocofiber at 5 kg/hour which is more time efficient and more effective compared to the traditional method or the existing similar machine. This study will be beneficial for small and middle class industries.

Design And Construction Of 450 Va Permanent Magnetic Sync Generator For Vertical Axis Wind Power Generator House Scale With Low Wind Speed Asep Saepudin*, Asep Dharmanto, Hilman Sholih
Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Muhammadiyah Cileungsi
Abstract
A permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is a mechanical electrical device that can convert motion energy into electrical energy. It consists of two primary components: a stator without an iron core that the machine utilizes for low and low revolutions, and a rotor that uses permanent magnets. generator torque produced by a load. The need to develop permanent magnet generators for PLTB is caused by the reduction of petroleum and other fossil fuels, subsidies that continue to cut materials fuel oil for power generation that increases the price of electricity per KWH, as well as a global commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wind power plants are the driving force behind PLTB, which we know is alternative and renewable power plants. The energy source is wind, which continues to exist and is easily accessible. This study aims to create a prototype of a laboratory-scale permanent magnet generator for wind power plants for residential homes that allows it to be placed close to the ground, no need to be directed towards the wind, due to the need for electricity for the community, the high cost of electricity, as well as the difficulty of installing electricity with a capacity of 450 VA. wind blowing, easy operation, and affordable power generation with wind speeds as low as 2.5 m/s. The research methodology used in this study entails doing a literature review, a wind source mapping survey from various sources to gather data on national wind speeds, designing a prototype and a permanent magnet generator prototype, and finally simulating the prototype using computation power. The prototype permanent magnet generator for the wind power plant features 12 poles, a 500 rpm (rotation per minute) rotor, and a 450 VA power capacity

Mechanical Engineering Department, Politeknik Negeri Bali, Campus Street, Kuta Selatan, Badung-Bali, 80364
Abstract
Seasonal energy efficiency of latest split type AC systems which commonly use R410A, R32 or R290 refrigerants has been investigated in this paper. A numerical approach was applied on split AC system which operated at diverse environmental conditions of different regions across Indonesia archipelago. The regions were grouped into west, middle and east. In each group, 4 cities weather conditions were applied for simulation. The numerical simulation was conducted using a distributable program established under EES (Engineering Equation Solver) software. The seasonal energy efficiency of the AC system was evaluated for one year period based on corresponding regions weather conditions. The evaluations included power consumption, coefficient of performance (COP), and SEER (seasonal energy efficiency ratio). The investigation was also performed on AC system using different refrigerants included R410A, R32 and R290. The results showed that the AC system differently performed in accordance with the regions. AC system at west Indonesia region commonly performed better than middle and east regions. It was also found that the AC systems, applied at the same regions or the same weather conditions, using R290 could provide better seasonal energy performance than a such system using R32 or R410A. Therefore, R290 becomes a promising refrigerant for split type AC systems for applications across the Indonesia Archipelago. Additionally, this finding is also reinforced by the low impact of R290 on the global environment with GWP as high as 3 kgCO2e per kg.

Design of heater control equipment in interface mill product part separator process Miftahul Imtihan, Verry Surya Hendrawan, Ari Hartono
Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Muhammadiyah Cileungsi
Abstract
There are signs that the interface mill product^s supporting components have excessive amounts of damage, which has led to wasted plastic and iron materials. Using heater control devices properly is necessary to ensure that the influence is not long-lasting. This thermal control tool was created as a method of separating plastic and iron components in the interface mill product parts. Designing a heating control device to separate plastic from iron and allow the plastic to be recycled or reused while also allowing the iron to be recycled or reused is the strategy employed to accomplish the goals of this research. The outcomes shown that the handling of the product part separation process for interface mills may be done more precisely and successfully. The design of this instrument, in our opinion, makes it simple to separate parts, allowing damaged part material for interface mill products to be recycled

Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Muhammadiyah Cileungsi
Abstract
In order to achieve high accuracy with a reasonable processing time for artificial intelligence-based facial recognition, the proper technique must be used. In this study, two different kinds of experiments were run on the program^s model and application sides. On the modeling side, the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) approach is used for feature extraction, and the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method is used for feature selection in the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) classification. The ORL database, which contains 357 facial photographs from 7 different people, with 51 images per person, served as the study^s dataset. The LDA and KNN algorithm models are anticipated to have accuracy increases of more than 80% in model testing. In tests, the PSO-based LDA and KNN algorithms achieved the maximum accuracy of more than 85% while processing data more quickly. Performance is increased by more than 5% as a result of modeling optimization on a PSO basis. The improvement in accuracy demonstrates that PSO is able to choose the best attributes that are suitable and practical to analyze during categorization. In addition to testing the application program, it is envisaged that modeling will be able to identify the suitable model device on a real system by measuring the response time of objects known as devices.

Abstract
A numerical evaluation on the performance of a small commercial AC system with R32 as the refrigerant is presented. The evaluation is specifically applied for educational buildings in Bali Province, Indonesia. A digital model was developed in a standalone computer program U.CoolS V.1.12 which was established in the EES (Engineering Equation Solver) program. The digital model has been validated using data specified by AC manufacturers and then it was used to perform digital evaluation of the AC system based on ambient temperature of the Bali Province, Indonesia. Effects of condensing temperature in the condenser and evaporation temperature of the refrigerant in the evaporator on the compressor efficiency and AC system energy consumption were simulated. The evaluation results showed a strong influence of condensing temperature and evaporation temperature on the compressor performance and overall energy consumption of the split AC system. It was found that for 1 degree C increase in condensing temperature, the compressor power increased quite significantly around 2.1 percent, the cooling capacity of the split AC system decreased by 1.8 percent, COP and EER also decreased by 3.9 percent. For 1 degree C increase in evaporation temperature, it was found an increase in compressor power consumption of around 0.31 percent, an increase in cooling capacity of 4.4 percent and an increase in COP and EER of 4.1 percent. The results of this evaluation also showed that the split AC system performance using R290 refrigerant has a very good COP range from 3.27 to 5.95 with the implication that R32 refrigerant has the potential to be a refrigerant for the small commercial AC system.
