Esterification Of Acetic Acid Anhydride With Eugenol And Its Activity As Antifungal
Rahmawati Salsa Dinurrosifa, Indah Sulistyarini, Erwin Indriyanti

Bachelor Program of pharmacy, Semarang Pharmaceutical College (STIFAR)

Abstract

The main contents of clove oil are phenolic compounds, namely eugenol, eugenol acetate and gallic acid, as well as flavonoids. One of the derivatives of the eugenol compound is acetyl eugenol which was developed by the esterification reaction between eugenol and acetic acid anhydride using the sonochemical method.
The aim of this research is to synthesize the acetyl eugenol compound from the esterification reaction between eugenol and acetic acid anhydride using sonochemical methods, to determine the sonication time that can produce the acetyl eugenol compound with the largest yield percentage, and to determine its antifungal activity against the Candida albicans fungus.
Synthesis of acetyleugenol was sonicated for 30 minutes at a temperature of eighty degrees celsius. The % yield of the synthesized compound is calculated and continued with testing which includes solubility, melting point, FTIR, GC-MS. NMR tests, which are then tested for antifungal activity.
The research results show that eugenol and acetic acid anhydride compounds with a NaOH catalyst can be synthesized using ultrasonic waves and produce a % yield of 3.50%. The resulting synthesis can melt starting at a temperature of thirty degrees celcius and can dissolve in ethanol, methanol, chloroform and ether but does not dissolve in distilled water. H-NMR FTIR testing on the acetyl eugenol compound showed the presence of 0,866 (s, 3H)- 6,62 (d,1H)- 6,47 (d, 1H)- 1,875 (t,2H)- 4,983 (s, 2H)- 1,255 (d, 2H)- 7,061 (d,1H)- 3,84 (s, 3H). Acetyleugenol with concentrations of 5% and 10% it shows the ability to act as an antifungal for Candida albicans.

Abstract

In this study, nutrition fact tables as an example of back of pack labelling, traffic light logos as an example of front of pack labelling, and an augmented reality mobile application as a proposed new way for providing nutritional information method were compared and tested. There were two main objectives. First, to check whether nutritional information provided by these tools have an impact on healthy food choice. Second, to understand which tool is expected to be used in future shopping situations the most. The research concluded that nutritional information did not have an effect on healthy food choice regardless of which method the information was provided. Nevertheless, the nutritional information was evaluated more understandable, comparable, and salient when it was conveyed by the traffic light logos than by the nutrition fact tables. The augmented reality application could only improve information saliency relative to the traffic light logos but it was evaluated only as understandable and comparable as the information that was conveyed by the nutrition fact tables. The findings of this study also articulates that there were no differences in the reported future reuse intentions among the three information provision methods. However, it was concluded that the traffic light logos were easier to use, more enjoyable and more novel than the nutrition fact tables. The augmented reality app was assessed as the most enjoyable method, but its other characteristics were evaluated similarly to the traffic light logos.

Abstract

This research evaluates the implementation of bureaucracy simplification policy, particularly in the context of position equalization, and its impact on the performance of state civil servants in the West Java Provincial Govern-ment. The policy aims to enhance public service and is part of the public sector governance reform. Findings indicate that while the implementation of the bureaucracy simplification policy in West Java Province has not entirely met the organization^s needs, it has a significant positive influence on state civil servants performance. The performance of state civil servantsaffected by position equalization has notably improved, particularly in terms of tech-nical competence, economic feasibility, and political sustainability, contrib-uting to 56.14% of their overall performance. The position equalization pro-cess involves identifying administrative roles, mapping positions, and equal-izing them based on specific criteria, with the objective of transitioning ad-ministrative positions into functional roles. However, there is room for im-provement in managerial skills, performance target understanding, and adap-tation to local government conditions. In the technical competence dimen-sion, the implementation of bureaucracy simplification has a positive influ-ence of 14.22% on state civil servants performance. Nevertheless, in terms of economic feasibility, adequate support is required for optimal perfor-mance. In conclusion, the implementation of bureaucracy simplification pol-icy positively impacts the performance of state civil servants affected by po-sition equalization. However, improvements in management skills, perfor-mance understanding, and economic support are essential to bolster public sector governance reform, ultimately achieving the goal of improving public service and efficiency in West Java Province

Abstract

In Kalibiru, Yogyakarta, we found utilization has resulted in an increase in the number of visitors from 2010, which amounted to 717 per year. It is reaching its peak in 2016 with a total of 36,923 visitors per year. However, the area experienced decreased visitors even before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2018 with 1,880 visitors, a 94% decrease. This research was conducted in the Kalibiru Tourism Area, Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta Special Region to describe other impacts or side effects of using user-generated content as a tourism promotion media in Kalibiru Yogyakarta. The conceptual approach used is the concept of a spectacle society from Jean Baudrillard. This qualitative research method is a case study by conducting in-depth interviews with informants according to the judging criteria, namely the manager of the Kalibiru tourist area. Various innovations in the use of UGC can attract tourists to come to Kalibiru. However, the digitization of this destination, or what is more often called selfie spots has not been able to bring visitors sustainably. So the use of UGC that is not wise can cause the talkative presence of net citizens, which leads to the instability of visitors in tourist areas. Suggestions that can be given from this research are the need for further research to find more effective strategies to maintain the sustainability of tourism visitors. Maybe you can do action research by conducting a partnership pilot project that can support tourism sustainability according to the SDG^s goals, namely sustainable institutional partnerships.

Exploring Creative Video Documentary Through Folklore Settings for Strengthening Storytelling to Expand the Promotion of MaduraTourism Destination
Surokim, Bani Eka Dartiningsih, Luthfi Awwalia

Universitas Trunojoyo Madura

Abstract

Madurese tourism requires a digital communication touch to reach a wide audience. Through documentary videos uploaded on various media platforms, Madurese tourist destinations will become more appealing and easily accessible to a broader audience. By reinforcing the connection with local folklore, a tourism documentary video not only contains geographical content but also carries the contextual background of a story. Promoting tourist destinations in this manner becomes softer as it is not solely about promoting physical tourist spots, but also about incorporating the background story. This research employs an action research paradigm with a participatory-action research approach. Action research utilized a case study, which was a qualitative research method. This research also serves as development research and yields a model for developing media production with new creative content. The results of this research indicated that the promotion of tourism through documentary videos was increasingly appealing to the audience. Tourism videos with soft promotion, such as a journey with folklore stories, are more captivating because they entail narratives and tales. Social media is the most accessed platform by the audience to view documentary videos. The creative touch in producing documentary videos is reinforced through the enhancement of the local folklore that exists in the tourist area, which is then incorporated as a strengthening element in the storytelling of the journey and travel documentary video.

Abstract

This article discusses the implications of social media use in the daily lives of rural women in four provinces in Indonesia, namely North, Central, West and Gorontalo Sulawesi. This research uses quantitative descriptive analysis method and qualitative data as support. The results showed that rural women use social media to expand and strengthen their resource, economic, and so-cio-cultural capabilities with their environment. Social media also provides opportunities for rural women to engage in community activities and work together in partnerships. However, there are still some rural women who dis-agree with the use of social media in providing active participation and co-operation opportunities. In addition, this study also shows that rural women have a habit of tracing the truth of information obtained through social me-dia, but there are still some who rarely or do not confirm the search for the truth of the information.

Istitut Seni Indonesia Denpasar

Abstract

The life of Balinese society is closely related to religious ceremonies that utilize traditional ceramics as ceremonial tools, such as coblong, dulang, pengasepan, caratan, paso, and jun. Among several centers of traditional ceramic craftsmanship scattered in the Bali region, there is one center that remains in existence to this day, while some other centers of traditional ceramic craftsmanship seem to be dormant and even tend to become more marginalized. The research aims to analyze the sustainability of traditional ceramic art in Banjar Basang Tamiang from the perspective of the younger generation. The main research problems are: the sustainability of traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang from the perspective of the younger generation, aesthetics in traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang, and the implications of the sustainability of traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang on the social, cultural, and economic life of the artisans. The research uses a qualitative method, grounded in the theories of Derrida^s Deconstruction, Parker^s Aesthetics, and Luxenburg^s Reception. The research is conducted in Banjar Basang Tamiang, Kapal Village, Badung Regency, Bali Province, in the year 2023. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, with informant selection using purposive sampling. The research findings are as follows: First: The current sustainability of traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang is solely based on belief and respect for ancestors. The younger generation is not interested in directly engaging as ceramic artisans, posing a threat to its continuity. On one hand, the continuity of market demand strongly supports, especially for ceramics used in religious ceremonies. Second: The aesthetics of traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang show that decorative ceramics take the forms of animals and human figures touched by art, while ceramics for religious ceremonies are made in various shapes and sizes according to their functions. Third: The sustainability of traditional ceramic art in Basang Tamiang has implications for economic improvement, social interaction closeness, job creation, and product diversity.

Institut Seni Indonesia Denpasar

Abstract

The research has been conducted on two wayang paintings by the artists I Made Yasana and Jero Mangku Muryati. The study took place in Denpasar and Kamasan in September 2023. Upon examining these two paintings, there seems to be some similarity, but people refer to I Made Yasana^s wayang painting as classical wayang and Jero Mangku Muryati^s as Kamasan wayang. Therefore, it is necessary to compare these two paintings to understand their differences and similarities. Purpose of this research is to identify the distinguishing variables between the two paintings and to understand the meaning of I Made Yasana^s paintings. This study utilizes a qualitative method with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The theoretical framework used to analyze the meaning of I Made Yasana^s paintings involves Roland Barthes^ denotative and connotative theory, while Charles Sanders Pierce^s theory is related to symbols. Results of the research indicate that the differences between these two wayang paintings lie in composition, proportion, technique, and coloring variables. Therefore, I Made Yasana^s painting can be considered Kamasan wayang based on the form of the wayang, but it cannot be classified as Kamasan wayang based on composition, proportion, and coloring technique. As for the meaning of I Made Yasana^s paintings, they contain a philosophy of education, teaching humans that life requires harmonious and continuous interaction, not only with other humans but also with the environment in which they exist. Moreover, it is crucial to establish interaction with the Creator as an expression of gratitude. With the involvement of the Creator in everything, humans, along with their environment, can realize a harmonious life, achieving the goal of prosperity and happiness.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of halal hospitality services to tourists with the principle of halal tourism, generally on Lombok Island. The award obtained by Lombok Island as the best halal tourist destination in the world in 2015 makes Lombok Island apply the halal concept in all services in tourism. Bilebante Green Tourism Village has friendly services while still based on halal principles, which can be developed to support halal tourism. The service is not only aimed at Muslim tourists but also non-Muslim tourists. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach to explain the application of halal tourism. Based on the study and the results of data analysis, it was found that halal hospitality services are implemented through the provision of local cuisine that uses halal rules and standards. The availability of places of worship for Muslim tourists is also a strengthening of halal tourism services, the existence of adequate sanitation facilities as a form of management responsibility to improve hygiene standards, and improving the economy of the local community, which has an impact on efforts to Preserving the culture of the local area as a tourist destination. Hopefully, this study can illustrate the implementation of a halal tourism pilot on Lombok Island, which accommodates Muslim and non-Muslim tourists. It is also hoped that this study will be useful to become a library for relevant research in the future, especially studies for developing advanced tourism on Lombok Island.

Abstract

This article explores sustainable traditions in the formation of a vernacular architecture. It takes Bale Meten of the Tenganan Community as its object of study. This Bale has been chosen for unique symbolic roles it has in representing a life cycle conception within the sphere of Tenganan^s belief system. This article attempts to connect vernacular architectural forms and practices, with the concept of sustainable use of natural resources as well as ensuring community^s equal access to these means. In so doing, this study in one hand explores well-imbedded and well-practiced beliefs, adat consented codes and community rules. On the other, it examines five determining elements of an architectural formation including functions, form, structure, construction and building materials in use. This research implements qualitative approach with an exploratory method. Data collection is carried out by conducting a series of architectural documentations and in-depth interviews with both key community members and adat village leaders of the Tenganan community. Research outcomes demonstrates that while terms sustainable may not be part of vocabularies found anywhere in the dictionary of the Tenganan traditional community, however Tenganan^s home is a true representation of sustainable practices. How it is conceived and constructed promotes a concept of safeguarding the future in terms of social issues as well as continuous resources availability. It is an internally driven process. it involves conscious forces coming from the Tenganan community itself.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to describe the collective memory of the Luang people regarding the current state of the Luang language. Language shifts particularly those that occur at the word level, and the variables that affect these changes.
This study employed a descriptive methodology, with the primary focus being the use of language in the context of livelihood. Three sub-focuses were identified: (a) words associated with fishing gear- (b) traditional sea transportation technologies- and (c) names of fish found along the coast. In this study, participant observation and unstructured interviews were used as the data gathering methods. The data sources included elderly individuals who are still proficient in the language for comparison, as well as youngsters, ages 15 to 16, who were born and reared on Luang Island.
According to Ranjit Kumar, content analysis was used to analyse the data in this study. This analysis begins with data collection, followed by data coding according to the topic under investigation, and lastly arriving at a conclusion as an answer to the questions posed. This approach can aid in the exploration of a community^s culture, history, and growth across time.
The study^s findings indicate that: (1) Luang language is still present in the collective memory of the Luang community as a self-identity- (2) Luang language is shifting lexically- and (3) changes in the Luang community^s focus on their livelihoods and environmental behavior contribute to changes in the language^s lexical characteristics.
In order to preserve the Luang language as a local legacy that may encourage pride in its cultural history, efforts are made based on the study^s early detection of language shifting findings.

Abstract

Abstract. The distribution pattern of settlements is the relationship between human habitation that follows the topographical patterns of a region. The distribution pattern of settlements in Kalimantan is closely related to the geographical conditions of the Kalimantan region, which are concentrated along riverbanks. The role of remote sensing in the study of settlement distribution is particularly important, primarily for obtaining spatial data on the presence of settlements and the conditions of the area at that time. Settlements that follow river networks can be analyzed using one of the methods, namely the nearest neighbor approach, often referred to as Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN). This research aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of settlement patterns along riverbanks and identify potential relationships between these settlement patterns and flood inundation. With a focus on remote sensing, spatial data is used to provide a holistic understanding of settlement dynamics and flood risk. Through this approach, the research results are expected to contribute significantly to the development of disaster mitigation policies, sustainable urban planning, and the construction of infrastructure adaptive to flood threats. Thus, a profound understanding of the relationship between riverbank settlement patterns and flood inundation can serve as a foundation for efforts to protect and recover impacted communities. The settlement patterns in parts of Martapura Subdistrict can reveal clustering, and this clustering pattern may contribute to various environmental issues, especially riverbank flooding due to human settlements built too close to the river or not following the government^s building regulations.

Abstract

The study of Islamic Parties is often connected to the framework of political Islam and sectarian politics. These two theories have dominated studies of Islamic political parties from the beginning of independence until now. Phenomenon and problems: Obtaining votes in the election of Islamic parties and the failure to form an Islamic political party axis is one of the problems. The number of votes which is not significant and is considered to be always decreasing underlies the assessment of the effectiveness of Islamic political parties. This research aims to analyze more deeply how Islamic parties position themselves in elections, considering that in 2024 Indonesia will hold presidential elections and examine the bargaining power of Islamic politics in the coalition of presidential and vice presidential candidates. So that later it will be known why Islamic political parties are not building a joint coalition in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. This research method is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Data sources will be obtained from secondary data, namely relevant research results, mass media, and social media. The analysis technique is triangulation. The temporary hypothesis in this research which also has theoretical implications for the Size of Party Power and Policy Seeking is that coalitions aim to realize policies by party interests, however, in practice, coalitions are only used as a means to increase party power but utilize the same ideological background and character of the community/masses. so that efforts to form an Islamic axis always fail to materialize.

Abstract

This research examines why Mr. Gaguk refused to run for re-election as village head, analyzing the dynamics of demonstrations by village residents regarding Mr. Gaguk^s refusal. And evaluate the social and political impact of Pak Gaguk^s rejection of village governance. Pak Gaguk has served as Village Head since 2017 and has succeeded in leading the village well for one period. However, when asked to run again, he refused, sparking an unusual public demonstration. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, and data sources were obtained through inter-views, observation, and FFD as well as online media, news, and related journals, research, and data analysis using the NVivo 12 plus data processing application, computer-assisted qualitative document analysis. Tool. They are easy to use and can process words and explore word frequen-cies, attributes, and cases from big data, generating categories of factors or sub-factors in re-search. The research found that Pak Gaguk refused to run again as village head because he felt that one term was enough and wanted other residents to run for village head. However, the com-munity did not accept it and hoped that Pak Gaguk would run for office again- they said that Pak Gaguk was their best leader and no one else because while serving as Village Head, Gaguk never took his salary as village head. His salary is returned to the village to be managed as a village development fund- like the Village Head of Ponggok Klaten Stageharjo Sewon Bantul, he is also the best village head who can develop his village.

Abstract

Although there is a lot of research on the implementation of data governance policies in Indonesia, there is still little research on the implementation of data governance policies from the aspects of structural and individual dialectic changes. To fill this gap, we analyze the implementation of Satu Data Indonesia Policy through the perspective of structuration theory. This study aims to explore and analyze dynamic relationships and interactions between individuals/groups, social structure, power, and individual reflexivity in the implementation process of Satu Data Indonesia Policy. The focus of research is directed at changing practices in the context of the implementation of Satu Data Indonesia Policy. This research design uses Critical Discourse Analysis with data collection techniques using documentation, studies and interviews. The results showed that agency strategies in the distribution of power and resources and reflexivity of actors to new structures influenced the successful implementation of Satu Data Indonesia policy at the local government level. The availability of infrastructure and human resource capabilities have an impact on the difference in success in each local government. In practical terms, the findings of this study can help policymakers to better understand the various dialectical impacts of interactions between policy structures and individuals on the successful implementation of Satu Data Indonesia policy.

The Role of Company Size On The Influence Of Audit Tenure, Public Accounting Firm Size And Company^s Performance On Audit Delay
Vinola Herawaty and Taftazani Aprilito

Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Trisakti, Jakarta

Abstract

Going public companies have the obligation to submit annual financial reports and the company^s independent auditor^s report no later than ninety days after the closing date of the annual financial report in accordance with Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulation No.44/PJOK.04/2016 article 7(2) but still many factors are thought to cause audit delays. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of audit tenure, public accounting firm size, solvency and profitability on audit delay with company size as a moderating variable. This study is a quantitative research using LQ45 index companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2017 - 2021. The hypothesis test conducted is using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with panel regression equation model. The results indicate that audit delay is influenced negatively by audit tenure, profitability and company size, while solvency and public accounting firm size have not been proven to affect audit delay. This research also concludes that company size is not a moderating variable that moderates factors on audit delay. Potential investors are expected to choose large company, has high profitability and has a long audit tenure because these companies tend to have good company management so they can avoid audit delays
