Abstract
The variety of geological features and geological morphology is the location of this research very complex to be investigated further with different methods and approaches. One object very interesting research to be studied more deeply in the research area, namely the geological structure in the form of amphitheater which is the result of tectonic and sedimentary processes that have occurred over a period of time a certain geology on the island of Java regionally, specifically developing in the Karang sambung area, Kebumen. In this study, a different approach was also taken in terms of geomorphology study, namely by involving DEM data for 3D analysis purposes to make geomorphological units. Data processing produces three types of maps which include Topographic Maps, Slope Maps, DEM Maps and 3D DEM models that are aligned. DEM 3D models can perform bird views from multiple locations and directions and obtain elevation and slope information more accurately than the other two types of maps, so that it can be seen a different geomorphological description of the geological structure of the amphitheater that developed at the location study. There are 3 geomorphological units in the study area, namely plains with an area of 21% with a height difference of 0-50m and a steepness of 0-15%- Wavy area of 63.2% with a height difference of 50-200m and a steepness of 15-45%- Hilly area of 63.2% with a height difference of 350-500m and a steepness of more than 45%.
