Abstract
This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) explores the role of digital communication in libraries in promoting inclusive communities. This study analyzes peer-reviewed articles from 2015 to 2025 to synthesize current research on how libraries utilize digital tools and platforms to bridge social gaps, improve accessibility, and empower marginalized communities. Findings reveal an increasing trend in the use of social media, websites, mobile apps, and digital literacy programs by libraries to expand their reach beyond physical boundaries. Key themes identified include the use of digital platforms for community engagement and dialogue, providing accessible digital resources for people with disabilities, and implementing digital skills training to address the digital divide. This review highlights that while digital communication offers significant opportunities, challenges remain, such as ensuring equitable access to technology, developing culturally sensitive content, and measuring the real impact of digital initiatives on social inclusion. This study concludes by proposing a framework of best practices and suggesting future research directions to further explore the potential of digital communication in promoting more equitable and inclusive library services. This SLR contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive overview of current practices and research, as well as offering valuable insights for library professionals, policymakers, and researchers interested in the intersection of technology, libraries, and social inclusion.
