Abstract
Abstract
This study aims to describe the process of developing sociolinguistic teaching materials assisted by Gamma.app using the Research and Development (R&D) method, which adapts the 4D development model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. During the Define stage, needs analysis was conducted through observation, interviews, and the distribution of questionnaires to lecturers and students to identify challenges and needs in sociolinguistics learning. The Design stage involved formulating objectives, structuring the material, and designing the interface and interactive elements within the Gamma.app platform. Next, in the Develop stage, the teaching materials were developed into an initial prototype, validated by subject matter experts and media experts, and tested on a limited basis with students to obtain feedback for improvement. Finally, the Disseminate stage was carried out through product refinement and dissemination of teaching materials to a wider audience. The research results indicate that the developed teaching materials are suitable and effective for use in learning, and can enhance student participation and understanding of sociolinguistic material in their social language practices. The expert material validation rate was 87.87%, the expert media validation rate was 89.92%, and the product testing result was 88.6%. These findings indicate that the use of interactive digital media such as Gamma.app can be an innovative solution in the development of teaching materials in the digital age.
