Abstract
Radial symmetry is a fundamental concept in visual design, characterized by the arrangement of elements around a central point, producing balanced and aesthetically pleasing compositions. This paper introduces Symsdraw, a desktop-based digital design application that leverages radial symmetry to facilitate the efficient creation of geometric patterns. The core feature of Symsdraw allows users to draw shapes and lines that are automatically replicated around a central axis, enabling the construction of intricate and harmonious radial designs without requiring manual duplication. By integrating real-time rendering and an intuitive user interface, Symsdraw supports a dynamic and accessible design process for users ranging from graphic designers and digital artists to educators in the fields of mathematics and visual arts. Preliminary evaluations indicate that the application enhances creative exploration and precision in geometric design. As a creative desktop tool, Symsdraw contributes to the growing field of visual computing and human-computer interaction, offering new possibilities in the generation of symmetric digital artworks.
