Abstract
This study aims to develop project-based teaching materials for Academic Writing on the topic of Environmental Awareness using scrapbooks in the course Academic Written Language Skills. The topic of Environmental Awareness was chosen as an effort to integrate relevant global issues into English language learning, enabling students to understand the complexity of environmental problems while simultaneously improving their academic writing skills. The project-based learning approach employed in this study is designed to provide an applied learning experience, where students not only learn to write but also contribute to finding solutions to environmental issues, such as plastic waste management. Therefore, this study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Plomp development model to create project-based teaching materials featuring audio and video content on environmental awareness that can motivate and engage students to more actively practice writing texts in English. Data will be collected through student questionnaires as well as pre-tests and post-tests. The expected outcomes of this study include a final report, publication in an international journal indexed by Scopus/WoS or Sinta 4, and intellectual property rights and copyrights for the research products. The results are expected to be applicable at TKT level 2, where the developed project-based teaching materials can support decision-making and policy in the field of English language education.
