Abstract
Exclusive breastfeeding plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and development of infants, yet its success rate is often influenced by various factors, including the breastfeeding self-efficacy (BSE) of the mother. One of the factors that can enhance BSE in breastfeeding mothers is support from healthcare providers. This study aims to analyze the relationship between healthcare provider support and BSE in primipara breastfeeding mothers in the working area of Gunung Tinggi Health Center. This research used an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 45 primipara mothers breastfeeding infants aged 0 to 1 month, selected using convenience sampling. Data were collected using the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (BSES-SF) questionnaire to measure the mothers^ self-confidence in breastfeeding, as well as a questionnaire on healthcare provider support. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test to assess the relationship between the two variables. The results showed a significant relationship between healthcare provider support and BSE in primipara breastfeeding mothers (p < 0.05). Healthcare provider support plays a crucial role in enhancing BSE in primipara breastfeeding mothers. Increased support from healthcare providers can strengthen the mothers^ confidence in breastfeeding and improve the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study recommends strengthening lactation support programs involving healthcare providers to improve the success rate of exclusive breastfeeding, especially in areas with low coverage
