Abstract
The vulnerability of Karo Regency in North Sumatra Province to natural disasters highlights the urgent need for an effective and integrated disaster preparedness system, especially within the education sector. This study focuses on the utilization of Survey123 and a WebGIS platform to build a data collection and spatial analysis system specifically for elementary schools designated as Disaster-Prepared Schools. Survey123, a mobile-based data collection tool, was used to gather real-time data on preparedness indicators such as infrastructure conditions, evacuation routes, and the presence of disaster education initiatives in elementary schools. These data were integrated into a WebGIS platform to enable spatial visualization, interactive analysis, and evidence-based decision-making. The results show that combining Survey123 and WebGIS enhances the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of preparedness data, offering a comprehensive overview of the vulnerability and capacity of elementary schools in disaster-prone areas. This system is expected to serve as a model for strengthening disaster risk reduction strategies in primary education and supporting stakeholders in planning, monitoring, and policy formulation.
