Abstract
Tourism competitiveness is an important concept in the global travel industry which is currently facing challenges in the era of digital transformation and global megatrends. This article focuses on the importance of sustainable tourism which involves economic, environmental and social aspects. Digital transformation, through the use of advanced technology such as travel applications and smart tourism concepts, is identified as the key to maintaining the competitiveness of tourist destinations amidst intense global competition. Adequate infrastructure and facilities, as well as environmentally friendly tourism practices, are important elements that support competitiveness. In addition, unique local culture and experiences provide significant added value for tourists, while high service quality ensures visitor satisfaction, and the involvement of local communities in destination development also plays an important role in increasing competitiveness. With a holistic approach that considers all these factors, destinations can strengthen their position in the international tourism market and drive sustainable growth. This paper provides an in-depth understanding of how destinations can navigate the challenges and opportunities to achieve competitive advantage in the ever-evolving tourism industry.
