Digital Literacy to Overcome Bullying in Primary School Students

Abstract

This research is important to maintain children^s mental health from an early age and prevent bullying by children at school. The aim of this research is firstly, to determine and analyze the digital literacy skills of elementary school children in dealing with bullying at school. This is a preventive effort to prevent bullying which can damage children^s mental health. Second, to find out the mental health of elementary school children in responding to bullying cases at school. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach, with stages of determining the school as the research object and research informants, observation, interviews, FGD and documentation. Field results show that the factors causing bullying in elementary school children are group factors, family factors, environmental factors, mass media factors and self-esteem factors. The results of the research will be used as a reference for creating a communication model to develop children^s digital literacy with the help of multimedia.
