Abstract

Aggregate is the most common material used in making asphalt mixtures. Meanwhile, the materials provided by natural resources are very limited. Continuous use can damage the environment. So it is necessary to innovate to replace materials from nature. One aggregate that needs to be tried is artificial aggregate using coal waste in the form of fly ash. This research aims to find out: (1). Optimum aggregate content in mixture variations with a mixture percentage of 100% natural aggregate 0% artificial aggregate,
50% artificial aggregate 50% natural aggregate, and 100% artificial aggregate 0% natural aggregate in the AC-BC(2) asphalt mixture. Marshall characteristics of asphalt mixtures using AC-BC aggregate gradations
using artificial aggregates derived from geopolymer concrete paste. This research uses artificial geopolymer aggregates used in AC-BC asphalt mixtures as a substitute for coarse aggregate. There are four samples each
with variations of 0%, 50% and 100% using one asphalt content, namely 5%. The results obtained in the research show that from variations of 0%, 50%, and 100%, the use of artificial aggregate with an asphalt content of 5% has results that do not meet the specification requirements so that the optimum aggregate content cannot be drawn.
