Abstract
Transportation plays a crucial part in tourism as it moves people from one place to another. It facilitates mobility as it lets people visit a particular destination for various purposes. Transportation also creates a link between places, enabling an area^s growth and development and most people use public transportation to get to a certain destination. Unfortunately, due to negative issues such as rapid enlargement of the carbon footprint and air pollution in urban areas, a lack of a maintenance system, ensuring the safety of passengers and drivers, negative effects on the environment, and improper passenger loading and unloading, the government decided to implement the Jeepney Modernization program, in which old regular jeepneys were phased out and replaced with modernized jeepneys On the path towards decarbonizing public transport, the utilization of modernized jeepneys in the Philippines is launched with the goal of making the country^s public transportation system efficient and environmentally friendly. The shift aims to improve the quality of living of the passengers by putting in new and safer jeepneys on the street and imposing regulations and limits that are allowed to operate. This study utilized quantitative research and a descriptive method to gather information from the respondents through the use of a validated survey questionnaire. This study found out that there is a significant relationship between the environmental benefits of implementing a modernized jeepney in the vicinity of Valenzuela City, Philippines in terms of decrease in noise pollution, energy efficiency, reduced demand for fossil fuel, improved air quality, and less waste through recycling. Therefore, the implementation of modernized jeepney can help for a greener environment. The engine of modernized jeepney produced less sound, less demand for fuel, sustainable than other transportation since it have combustion engines that help to lower their gas emissions, it can improve health by drastically reducing air pollution emissions, allowing people to breathe more easily and
live longer, and lastly it is more convenient and less exposed to air pollution.
