Abstract
There are two works created by AI art generator that depict the phenomenon of Jakarta^s submergence, illustrating the atmosphere during football match and crowd activities. These artworks bring denotations of reality that construct a connotative interpretation. This also evoke the ideology that the current situation has the potential to cause flooding disasters in Jakarta. The visual imagery has resulted in confusion regarding whether this constitutes reality or post reality. This research aims to comprehend the visual construction of AI art generator technology and people^s perceptions. The methodology employed in this study utilizes Roland Barthes semiotics, which interpret signs through denotation, connotation, and myth, supplemented by a perception methodology to understand how individuals respond to these works. From the discussions, it is evident that AI constructs denotative aspects through its algorithmic technology by combining various formalisms that construct reality, subsequently introducing elements of hyperreality containing aspects of impossibility within the social, economic, and cultural contexts. This serves as both the strength and weakness, showcasing the success of the AI art generator in constructing a visual imagery. In conclusion, people^s visual interpretations of AI art generator works are built upon the denotative elements of reality and are influenced by the sociocultural context.
