Abstract

The purpose of education is to humanize humans to be active, creative, and innovative in developing their respective potentials, which is not just teaching knowledge and understanding but must be able to direct and strengthen morally, religiously, and socially correct attitudes and behavior. Referring to this commitment, the religious literacy model based on the Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach is a learning process that is considered appropriate to deliver students to these educational goals. In addition, this model is in line with the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy because students are given freedom as well as challenges and opportunities to develop independence through the SCL approach in seeking and finding knowledge through reality and field dynamics such as ability requirements, real problems, social interaction, collaboration, self-management, performance demands, targets, and achievements. They start with careful planning in formulating a religious literacy model based on the SCL approach. Through a qualitative approach and descriptive field research method, researchers can understand the perceptions, motivations, actions, and others holistically experienced by the research subjects, then described naturally in words.
