Abstract
Unpleasant experiences become a predisposing factor for the emergence of psychosocial problems. The increase in cases of bullying among adolescents raises the threat of psychosocial problems that can occur in victims of bullying. Psychosocial problems in victims of bullying may occur for a long time, namely post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which is manifested in psychological discomfort. This study aimed to analyze bullying victims as a predisposing factor for PTSD. This research was a descriptive correlational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was college students in Pekalongan, has never been a victim of a natural disaster, and has not experienced physical limitations due to an accident. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling with a total sample of 322 respondents. Data collection used a checklist questionnaire to measure history of bullying victims and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire ( SRQ )-29 to measure PTSD. The data obtained has fulfilled the requirements of the Chi-Square test. The research results showed that 73.6% of research respondents were female, 55.6% were 18 years old with an average age of 18.29 years. The age range of respondents was between 17-25 years. It has been proven that the experience of being a victim of bullying is a predisposing factor for PTSD (p value = 0.0001). Respondents who have been victims of bullying are at risk of experiencing PTSD by 43.5% compared to those who have never been victims of bullying. Therefore, to prevent cases of bullying and the impact of bullying, especially PTSD, assertive attitudes and behavior must be cultivated so that unpleasant situations and experiences can be perceived as part of life.
