Abstract

This research is motivated by the geographical and physiographical conditions of the area in West Sumatra and its surroundings. West Sumatra is an area traversed by two large faults due to the movement of the Eurasian and Indo-Australian tectonic plates. The collision of the two plates occurred in the western part of the Mentawai Islands. Earthquakes and volcanic eruptions are associated with plate movements, such as earthquakes and volcanic activity, so that in West Surnatera province, especially the city of Padang, it is known as the ^super market mitigation^. This condition clearly raises the possibility of an earthquake. In particular, the city of Padang may be accompanied by a tsunami because it is located on the coast. Meanwhile, elementary school students in the two areas still lacked supplies and rescued themselves from disasters that could not be predicted with certainty. This can be seen from the learning curriculum in elementary schools which has not touched on these problems. So far, disaster mitigation programs have only focused on adults on the grounds that adults play a greater role in disaster management. Even though children really need this. Because they lack knowledge, do not understand what to do when a disaster strikes. Disaster response attitudes need to be instilled from an early age so that disaster response characters are formed so that they are no longer afraid, let alone phobias. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to develop an ethnoscience-based digital disaster mitigation module that is integrated in learning so that elementary school students in the city of Padang have a disaster response attitude. The module is designed in digital form to be more interactive and practical when used. So that the concept of this research is clear, the ethnoscience model is added in mitigation efforts. It is intended that the activities carried out are close to the lives of students and according to the context of local wisdom so that they are easy
