Abstract
Introduction: The anxiety mothers experience during postpartum is well known and may have negative consequences for the emotional, psychological, and social development of newborns. Psychocurative is a psychological intervention that ensures a person against their mental state, including cognitive, social, physical, and spiritual. The Psychocurative influence of hormonal changes during postpartum remains unclear. This study aims to analyze the effect of Psychocurative on Cortisol, Serotonin and Prolactin.
Methods: This study was an experimental Randomized Controlled Trial using a Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. There are Twenty postpartum women in Sibella Community Health Center Surakarta, Indonesia were divided into two groups. The intervention group was given Psychocurative once a day. Blood samples result were evaluated before and after the intervention to see the significant effect.
Results: The results showed significant levels of Cortisol, Serotonin and prolactin in the intervention compared to the control group (p <0.05 ).
Conclusion: Psychocurative has proven to improve Serotonin and Prolactin expression, and decreased the cortisol level.
