Reply from Prof. Dr. Dwi Rahmalina 2022.12.23 14:19:40 Dear Mr. Suroto Munahar, Bamboo material for speed boat body, resistant to termite and animal attacks. The traditional way to preserve bamboo can be done by: Control of cutting time, soaking bamboo in still or flowing water, smoking bamboo, dipping with lime (CaOH2), roasting bamboo. Modern preservation of bamboo is done by chemical use : Boron compounds, Zinc Chloride/Copper Sulphate, NaPCP (Sodium Penta Chloro Phenate), CCA (Copper Chrome Arsenic) and ACA (Ammoniacal Copper Arsenate), CCB (Copper Chromium Boron), Carosete/Ter. Water based preservatives : There are water-based bamboo preservatives that have permanent properties such as CCB (Coper Chrome Boron) and non-permanent ones such as Boron-Boric Acid.
