Question & Answer to the Presentation

Question from Mr. Agung Pamungkas
2022.12.22 08:26:16

Dear Mr. Hendrawan,

Has this FMECA method been used in a real system? can you use a programming
language other than PHP/ what are the advantages of PHP over other programming
languages?

Best Regards

This FMECA method has been applied to the actual system,
but not yet used continuously and not yet automated.
Identification of failure modes, possible causes, their functions,
and the failure effect has been applied to the real system as a basic reference step.
The next step is done using data simulation in PHP programming
by processing random data.

Other programming languages &#8203-&#8203-that might be used in this research study besides PHP programming are Python, Gurobi and GAMs Studio.
The reason we chose PHP programming over others is because it^s easy to combine
with other programming languages &#8203-&#8203-such as JavaScript, Bootstrap, and HTML.
Another convenience is the variety of graphical user interface which are easier to modify and integrate so that it is more comfortable for technicians as users.

Question from Mr. Muhammad Firdaus Jauhari

Dear Mr. Candra

1. What are the factors or parameters that are taken into account to analyze the risk of
failure in radar maintenance ?

2. How does Built-in test equipment (BITE) system integration work ?

Thank You

1. The maintenance factors considered for failure risk analysis in the form of:

a. work function of each component,
b. the form of possible failures that occur in components or modules,
c. causes of failures that can occur in components,
d. the possible impact on other components or the radar system,
e. period of occurrence of component failure, how often it occurs within a certain period of time,
f. component severity rating when a failure occurs,
g. direct observation of the physical form of the components when checking on site.

2. The BITE system integration steps that we designed in this study are:

a. understand all BITE systems parameter on each subsystem,
b. then calculate all parameters of health status and failure,
c. perform a breakdown of all components of the radar system that are calculated using FMECA based on the RPN value,
d. compare the existing system BITE in each subsystem with the calculation of the health status of the components in the overall radar system.

Question from Mr. Aris Rakhmadi
2022.12.21 13:44:35

PHP is a web programming language. Do this research use any kind of programming
platform to design an friendly user interaction? What is the interface tools which used
to communicate between user (PHP language) and the hardware? Thanks.

1. User interaction design that is currently used uses a combination of HTML, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to make the GUI comfortable and can be further updated for further development.

2. the interface tools used in this research are still limited because they are still in the simulation stage. for the next work the emphasis is on the use of wireless communication channels that can be installed on IP-based and related subsystems. the equipment can be ESP8266 and the like which require quite a bit of space.

Question from Mr. Ratnanto Fitriadi

The method for analyzing failures uses FMECA. What is the difference between
FMECA and FMEA? Is it if using FMEA is not enough to obtain failure in this study?

FMECA takes a step further than FMEA. Each failure mode will be calculated the level of severity. FMECA not only identifies but also investigates potential failure modes and their causes. Compared to FMEA, this method looks at potential problems in more detail and gets more accurate results, because the critical failure mode is also taken into account. Appropriate application of the FMECA method can help identify failures with the highest criticality values &#8203-&#8203-based on their probability and severity.

In this field, the defense of a country is one of the most important things. FMECA was chosen to get consideration of priority components and modules that must be maintained or repaired immediately, so as to be able to anticipate widespread failures or further fatal damage to whole system.

Criticality analysis from FMECA provides the level of criticality and urgency of the impact that will be received by the system when a failure occurs.
