Question & Answer to the Presentation

Question from Ms. Naelaz Zukhruf Wakhidatul Kiromah
2022.12.21 14:28:47

I am interested in the research that has been done, and there are several things I want to ask, namely.
1. The pH of all formulas tends towards an alkaline pH- as far as I know, the skin pH is 4.5-6.5. If the pH of the preparation is more than 8 in the liquid soap preparation, will it not irritate the skin?
2. The antibacterial test results on both formulas showed promising results, but did the antibacterial test use a negative control without extract?

Thank you

Thanks in advance to you, nice to meet you...
1. Based on SNI safety standars, the pH of liquid soap preparation ranges from 8-11
2. This study did not use a negtive control because in this study we wanted to test liquid soap preparations of guava leave extrac that could inhibit S. Aureus and E. coli bacteria

Thank you

I am interested in your research. I want to ask that is:
1. I have never done a flavonoid test, what method did you use? is the result just
+++ or is it the one that represents the number?
2. For the anti-bacterial test, both E coli and S Aureus, is there a repeat, because for
S aureus F1 the results are almost the same as F2.
thank you for your answer

Thanks in advance to you, nice to meet you...
1. In This study, the flavanoid tes was carried out qualitatively, +++meaning that guava leaves extract contains flavonoids
2. In the S. aureus and E.coli antibacterial tests, three replicates were carried out, the result listed are the avarage inhibition of the two bacteria

Thank You

Thanks in advance to you, nice to meet you...
1. In previous research, boiled guava leaves have been used as wound care, so researchers are interested in making preparations that are easier to us, namely liquid soap
2. The advantages of guava leave extarct liquid soap compared to other preparations are that it can be used for wound care and has a relativly strong antibacterial activity

Thank you
