Hello and thank you for your question. Exactly, as you saw from the Football team of
France most of its players where from African roots. The reason behind this is the
colonial past of France and its status as an a former colony that was mostly present
in Africa. During colonial times and even after independence, France attracted
several workers and immigrants to work and study there and due to the French
presence in their native countries learning French was an essential matter which
later on helped these immigrants to choose France as a country of destination and
settle there. Due to the significant number of immigrants, the need to create
integration policies made this step very important to guarantee the consistency and
stability of the French society. On the other hand, immigration became also a tool of
politicization in the hands of Far right parties that managed to use it as strategy to
attract more voters and create more attention to their political campaign. Thank you
