I think its good innovation in bathroom especially for elderly.
Has this research considered the material to be used in this innovation? What
material will be used in the future?
Thank you Mr. Pamungkas ..
In product design, of course we have to consider materials, production processes,
and ergonomic factors. This research will be continued with the selection of the right
material by considering the strength, aesthetics, and cost.
Material strength in product design can be simulated in CAD such as solidworks, as
well as work costs in the production process.
Many thanks for the suggestion Mr. Pamungkas.
Dear authors.
This is an interesting research for me.
Coincidentally, my research also developed instruments for ergonomics risk
assessment, perhaps in the future we can do joint research.

Thanks Mr. Anis Arendra.
It is very interesting to read some of your research.
And it will be very nice if one day you don^t mind if I will ask for a lot of suggest and
considerations regarding the development of activity aids for the elderly.
Thank you for sharing your very interesting and useful publication on enrichment for
ergonomics risk assessment.
Very interesting research mr. Ratnanto Fitriadi
I have some questions for you :
1. Is there a recommended age range for some one using a bathroom design like this?
2. How REBA can determine the level of risk from the bathroom user^s posture?
thank you
Replies:
Thanks Ms. Mila Faila Sufa for these questions.
1. This activity aids for the elderly in bathroom activity is intended for elderly aged
over 60 years who are still able to carry out activities independently. This design is
to reduce the risk of injury for them, and help make their activities more
comfortable.
2. By identifying their activities in the bathroom:
Posture analysis the actual posture of the elderly 1 (bathing, taking water in the
bathtub wearing a dipper).
Posture analysis the actual posture of the elderly 2 (bathing, cleansing the lower
body).
Posture analysis the actual posture of the elderly 3 (urinating or defecating,
fetching water in the bath).
With REBA we can be obtained score: falls under the ^Medium^ risk level which
means it requires a posture change action, for posture elderly 1 and 2. And
posture analysis figure 3 obtained a REBA score of 10 on the actual posture of the
elderly 3 (urinating or defecating, fetching water in the bath). The score falls into a
^High^ level of risk which means it requires a posture change action that must be
implemented immediately.
Mr. Ratnanto Fitriadi, is there any basic cost/budget assumption for this model of
design analysis? and is this tool adjustable so that another standard user ?
Replies:
Thanks Ms. Shintaya Ausi..
For now, activities aids for the elderly has not considered the cost. The continuation
of product design is the selection of materials and production processes to become
the basis for expenditure costs.
In determining the dimensions of this activity aids for the elderly using
anthropometry data from the elderly as many as 30 respondents from a village in
Pati, Central Java.
So, at the moment ..... base on the antrophometry data, for generally this tools
(activity aids) for the elderly can be used for elderly people in Central Java I think.
Thank you
Hello Mr Ratnanto Fitriadi, this is great research, as we can see there a multifunction for
elder people. but in your calculation there a no validate if the product applied, so what do
you think about comparison actual and calculation to know the difference?
Replies:
Thank you Mr. Galih Mahardika Munandar
I hope this research can contribute to the activities elderly in the bathroom safely.
Current product design is based on identifying elderly activities in the bathroom,
conducting risk assessments, and providing suggestions for improvements to risks
that may arise. Mannequin simulation is used (Catia software) to measure if this
equipment is applied to the elderly. Of course what remains to be done is to
determine the selection of materials and costs.
Many thanks for the suggests
