Abstract
The increase in tourist visits is not only influenced by tourist attractions, but also through the dissemination of tourism information that is able to reach and be easily accessed by many people in a short time. This study aims to map the trend of using social media among generations Y and Z in informing heritage tourism in Madura.
This study used a survey method by conducting face to face interviews guided by a questionnaire. The number of respondents was 400, obtained through stratified multistage random sampling.
It is known that more people get (access) information about tourism from social media as well as through word of mouth communications, compared to outdoor media and mass media. In terms of sharing information about tourism, it is also mostly done through the social media.
The research results can contribute to the development of tourism communication by tourism managers and local governments in an effort to increase tourist attraction and visits. Namely in relation to the distribution of media use and the packaging of providing tourist information.
