Abstract
It is believed that surveying play important role in the investigation of an existing building. Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has been adopted to replace traditional land-surveillance method. However, the application of UAV is still very limited. On the other hand, UAV has provided a very effective tool to produce 3D building model. As a new technology, it is not clear what is the accuracy of 3D model developed from UAV. Therefore, this paper presents a preliminary study to produce 3D model based on the application of UAV. The traditional land-surveillance is also carried out as a benchmark. The results shows that the 3D model from UAV agreed well with the traditional land-surveillance.
