Abstract

Village potential is all natural and human resources stored in the village. Where all these resources can be used for the survival and development of the village. Pandeglang Regency is divided into 32 sub-districts, 326 villages and 13 sub-districts. It has various potentials, but is not widely known to the public due to lack of information. In assisting the development and development of villages in Pandeglang Regency, a system is needed that manages the village^s information resources so as to produce data that is organized and easy to use. The web-based information system was built to make it easier for the government and the community to get information related to village potential effectively and efficiently, the location of the village location which is displayed visually using the Google Maps API. The use of the A* (A-Star) Algorithm method is able to find the closest path between the distance from one village to another, with the least expenditure costs from the given starting point to the expected destination point. This study resulted in the application of a geographic information system for mapping village potential in the Pandeglang Regency area using the Web-based A* (A-Star) Algorithm method.
