Abstract

Employee performance is always expected to be good, in terms of quality and quantity. To get good performance results, it must be supported by setting goals and proper work planning. The purpose of setting performance goals is to develop useful goals as guidelines for achieving company goals. Many factors can affect employee performance, one of which is work discipline. The population and sample in this study were employees of PT. X with 79 respondents. The type of data is primary data. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was linear regression analysis, correlation, coefficient of determination and significance test (t test). Based on the results of the validity and reliability tests on the variables of work discipline and employee performance, all variables were declared valid and reliable, this is because r count is greater than r table. The result of the linear regression calculation is that the equation Y = 7.245 + 0.653 X means that the performance of employees of PT. X is 7,245 units, with this assumption that work discipline is constant, while the coefficient of work discipline (X) is 0.653, this result proves that employee performance will significantly increase by 65.3% if the work discipline of employees at PT. X increased by 1%. From the calculation of correlation analysis, the value of r of 0.675 means that there is a strong relationship between the variables of work discipline and employee performance, while the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.456. This shows the understanding that employee performance (Y) is influenced by 45.6% by work discipline (X), while the remaining 54.4% is influenced by other factors. From the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected while H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant role between work discipline in improving employee performance at PT. X.
