Utilization of Social Media as Digital Literacy Development for Students Dian Anggraini Kusumajati (a*), Rina Patriana Chairiyani (b)

Abstract
This research is a study on the use of social media to develop digital literacy in students. This study uses a non-experimental quantitative method. The data obtained is based on social media and digital literacy measuring tools and tested on 114 students of Bina Nusantara University in Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling. The statistical method uses Pearson correlation analysis, independent T-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was a significantly positive relationship between social media and digital literacy. The correlation of social media with the dimensions of cultural literacy, mainly based on school culture, which means that students use social media for interests related to education, such as searching for books, information on learning materials, and others. The correlation between digital literacy and the dimensions of social media shows that the use of digital by students is to find information and update information.
