To meet their needs, women farmers carry out a multiple income strategy by working in the non-agricultural sector, such as being a freelance worker in a slipper factory, shrimp peeler in a frozen food factory, and sewing a veil. The income they earn can be used to survive during the dry season until the planting season arrives. Since the planting season, they returned to work in the agricultural sector. The women farmers in Haurgeulis and Gantar Districts did the work still in the same area, while female farmers in Indramayu District migrated outside the district to get the job.
