Abstract
Islamic boarding schools are not only seen as centers for Islamic studies but also as centers for improving business skills. It is recognized that Islamic boarding schools with advanced economic management can create Islamic boarding school economic independence which leads to the creation of good services. The location of this research is at the Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Islamic Boarding School Pamekasan. This research analyzes strategic steps for developing economic independence in supporting the sustainable strengthening of the Islamic boarding school economy. The research method uses a qualitative approach that focuses on primary and secondary data as well as information from various literature using interview, observation and documentation data collection techniques. The data analysis technique used is the qualitative descriptive data analysis method. The results of this research are that the Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Islamic Boarding School implements a sustainable Islamic boarding school economic development strategy with six strategies. First. procedural-managerial based business development. Second, build modern business trends. Third, entrepreneurship education. Fourth, financial inclusion, Fifth, institutional strengthening, Sixth, empowerment of human resources. Meanwhile, to create sustainable strengthening of the Islamic boarding school economy, build a holding-based business by creating the PT Mambaul Ulum Bata-Bata Group which oversees all Islamic boarding school business units.
