Abstract

The greening of port activities has heightened the focus on sustainability in the maritime logistics industry. This study examines how the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology into Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices can enhance the environmental performance of Port Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in Malaysia. The research addresses a regional gap, as much of the existing literature on IoT-enabled ports focuses on developed economies, with limited insights from Southeast Asia.

Grounded in the Dynamic Capabilities Theory and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the study evaluates the influence of IoT infrastructure, GSCM strategies, technological innovation, and regulatory policies on environmental outcomes such as emissions reduction and energy efficiency. A quantitative, descriptive approach was employed using a structured questionnaire administered to employees in PTP^s operations department. Random stratified sampling was used, and the data were analyzed using SPSS for descriptive, correlation, and regression analyses. Reliability and validity were ensured through pilot testing and expert review. The results are expected to show strong associations between IoT adoption, GSCM practices, and improved environmental performance. The study contributes to academic literature and offers practical recommendations for port managers and policymakers seeking to implement sustainable, IoT-driven logistics strategies.
