Abstract
This research focuses on revealing the concept of halal contained in the Qur^an from the point of view of the interpretation of verses about halal studied in the interpretation of the Islamic University of Bandung (Unisba). Tafsir Unisba is used as the object of research material because Tafsir Unisba is a tafsir compiled by educational institutions in Indonesia which in its interpretation will be loaded with the context of uniqueness. Then, Tafsir Unisba is also a contemporary interpretation that does not only rely on traditional approaches but also considers the social, economic, cultural, and scientific contexts that are relevant to the lives of modern Muslims. With a thematic interpretation approach (Maudhu^i), this research will examine the concept of halal from the perspective of Tafsir Unisba, such as how the nature, law, and wisdom of halal in the Qur^an. This will be analyzed on the interpretation of the Qur^anic verses evoked by the words halal which are rooted from the verb h-l-l in Unisba^s interpretation. This research aims to see how Tafsir Unisba builds halal discourse holistically and paradigmatically and can then be used as a basis for building the concept of halal ecosystem. Theoretically, this research contributes to providing the concept of halal. Practically, the halal conceptual can be used as the main key in formulating policies, regulations, and programs that lead to the development of a more dynamic and actual halal ecosystem.
