Abstract
This study investigates the influence of Green Involvement Management (GIM) and Green Training (GT) on Employee Green Behaviour (EGB), with Workplace Environment Sustainability (WES) serving as a mediating variable. The research is motivated by the urgency of advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12 and SDG 13) through internal organizational practices. The study was conducted at PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN), a state-owned enterprise in the energy sector, involving 230 employees from its Medan and Dumai branches. A quantitative explanatory approach was used, with data collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that GT has a significant positive impact on both WES and EGB. Meanwhile, GIM does not directly affect EGB but contributes significantly through WES. These findings emphasize the importance of a sustainable workplace environment as a mediator that transforms managerial involvement and training efforts into meaningful behavioral change. The study highlights the strategic role of human resource development in fostering green behavior and provides practical recommendations for integrating sustainability into training programs and leadership engagement initiatives.
