Abstract

The halal industry continues to show rapid growth at the global level, including in Indonesia, in line with increasing public awareness of the importance of sharia-compliant products. Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in encouraging the development of this sector, although they still face various obstacles, especially related to the understanding and implementation of halal certification. This Community Service Activity (PKM) is designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of MSME actors in managing halal-based businesses through training and technical assistance. The activities carried out include socialization, training, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), technical guidance, and monitoring and evaluation of 30 food and beverage MSME actors who are members of ASPAMI. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the aspect of understanding and implementing halal certification, which was evidenced by the Wilcoxon test between pretest and posttest scores. Furthermore, this program also helps strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs both in the domestic and global markets by educating on halal raw material supply chain mapping and halal marketing strategies. The sustainability of this activity is expected to be able to encourage more MSMEs to adopt halal principles, as well as strengthen the national halal ecosystem.
