Innovation of History Education Students in Fostering Nationalism: A Study of Generation Zs Perspective Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka Abstract Generation Z as an age group that currently dominates college has an important role in continuing the nationalism relay in the era of globalization. The phenomenon of the rapid flow of information, foreign popular culture, and the development of digital technology often pose challenges for strengthening the love of the homeland among students. This study aims to describe students strategies in fostering nationalism based on the perspective of generation Z. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation of students of the history education study program at one of the universities. The data was analyzed using Miles & Hubermans interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that students^ strategies in fostering a sense of love for the homeland are carried out in several ways, including: (1) strengthening the understanding of national history through classroom learning and exploration of local history, (2) active involvement in student organization activities and community service as a tangible form of concern for the nation, (3) the use of digital media to spread positive content with the theme of nationalism and countering the flow of information negative, (4) the preservation of local culture as the nation^s identity in the midst of the penetration of foreign cultures, and (5) exemplary in daily attitudes that reflect national values such as mutual cooperation, discipline, and responsibility. The conclusion of this study is that Generation Z, despite living in an all-digital era, still has an adaptive strategy in fostering nationalism. The strategy emphasizes the merging of historical values, social experiences, and the use of technology. Thus, the results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of character and nationality education in higher education.
