Abstract
Infectious diseases caused by worms in livestock, including cattle, are still considered a serious problem including in Southeast Asia. Java apple leaves have been known to have anthelmintic activity on Ascaris suum worms. Ascarus suum is a worm that lives in pigs and has similar properties to worms that live in cattle. In this study, java apple (Eugenia aqueum) leaves will be made into granules that can be mixed with animal feed. Furthermore, anthelmintic activity tests were carried out on worms and eggs. The results showed that java apple leaf extract granules met the requirements of the humidity test, Flow properties test and compression density test aspects. Result showed that the extract granules showed anthelmintic activity. The IC50 for male worms to experience paralysis is 35.19% b.v, , while the IC50 for female worms to experience paralysis is 55.24% b/v. The inhibition ability of apple rose leaf ethanol extract on the development of fertile eggs calculated was 58.80%. Based on the results above it can be concluded that a granul of ethanol extract of java apple leaves showed potential as an anthelmintic because it caused paralysis in Ascaris suum worms after being observed for 120 minutes. that the preparation also caused a significant reduction in the number of fertile worm eggs compared to controls (p<0.05).
