Abstract

This study aims to analyze land drought levels in Cipatat Village, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency using a remote sensing approach based on multispectral imagery. Data were acquired by a digital drone platform with high spatial resolution, enabling the identification of surface soil spectral reflectance under drought conditions. Drought index analysis was conducted over an area of approximately 7 hectares and classified into three categories: low drought (yellow), moderate drought (orange), and high drought (red). The interpretation results indicate that low drought dominates with 66% or about 4.62 ha, while moderate drought accounts for 18% (about 1.26 ha) and high drought reaches 16% (about 1.12 ha). Spatially, high drought areas are concentrated in the central to eastern part of the site, whereas low drought conditions are more prevalent in the western and southern sections. These findings highlight the heterogeneity of land conditions influenced by topographic variation and soil physical properties. The spatial information on land drought levels is expected to serve as a scientific basis for water resource management, drought risk mitigation, and sustainable land-use planning in the Padalarang region, West Bandung Regency.
