Abstract

The competition among similar study programs necessitates each Study Program to devise strategies to compete in attracting new students, especially at Private Higher Education Institutions like the Islamic University of Bandung. One of the study programs at Universitas Islam Bandung, namely Statistics, has experienced a declining trend in new student enrollment over the last three years. One strategy that can be implemented is by identifying student profiles. The creation of student profiles can be used as an evaluation tool to improve the quality of education and the quality of student inputs. Furthermore, student profiles also serve as a distinctive feature of the Study Program, making it a reference for prospective students to continue their studies. Machine learning is one method that can be used to identify patterns in the data, in this case, student profiles. There are various machine learning methods, so comparing several machine learning algorithms is needed by observing the accuracy level against the observed data. Based on this consideration, several machine learning methods will be applied that can be used to create profiles of students in the Statistics Study Program at Universitas Islam Bandung.
