Exploring ^Nyeleneh^ Acronym in Application System of Indonesia Government: A Socio-Pragmatics Perspective a) Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia Abstract This paper investigates the phenomenon of nyeleneh acronyms commonly used in Indonesian government application systems from a socio-pragmatic perspective. Simply put, nyeleneh refers to something unusual, bizarre, or beyond expectation which is often used to describe ideas, behaviors, artworks, or actions that are uncommon from what is considered normal or conventional. This paper also analyzes acronyms that have developed in the context of the Indonesian government from a socio-pragmatic perspective, to understand how acronyms affect how information is conveyed and received by the public. The research method used is qualitative and data includes text analysis or acronyms in government application systems found in several regions in Indonesia. The results of this study show that acronyms are often used as a tool to simplify complex information, create a collective identity, and make it easier for the government to serve all the community^s needs with the available service application facilities. However, several applications use acronyms that tend to be taboo and vulgar or odd, the acronym naming is deliberately made to be easy to remember, interesting, meaningful, and close to the community. However, the reality is that the naming creates diverse perceptions such as the use of women as sexual objects, pornography, and the use of genitals. The conclusion shows that there are 3 categories found in acronym namely: objectivity of human nature and body, the pornography/sexuality in meaning, and objectivity towards gender. Finally, the use of acronyms in the Indonesian government application system needs to be optimized by using the right diction and paying attention to socio-pragmatic aspects to improve the effectiveness of communication and the cultural values of the local community.
