Smart Weather Monitoring for Coffee Plantations: IoT-Based Automated Data Logging and Agronomic Decision Support a) Mathematics Department Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Universitas Negeri Medan Abstract Weather information plays a crucial role in various sectors due to Indonesia^s wide range of weather and extreme climate phenomena. This study describes the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Automated Weather Station (AWS) installed in a coffee plantation in Perteguhan Village. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller and a SIM7600A communication module to collect real-time meteorological data, including air temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, atmospheric pressure, and cloud coverage. Data are transmitted wirelessly using the MQTT protocol and automatically logged into Sheets. An application dashboard is used for weather parameter monitoring, enabling farmers to efficiently observe local weather conditions. The weather data serve as the basis for agronomic recommendations, supported by literature and expert consultation, to help farmers adjust their practices according to current environmental conditions. Field trials over a one-month period confirmed the system^s reliability in gathering and presenting relevant weather information for agricultural management. This solution is practical, affordable, and scalable, significantly enhancing decision-making support for rural farming communities.
