EFL Teaching and Learning Using Fictional Story Media for Students of SMP YPK Hedam Jayapura, Papua Cenderawasih University Abstract This community service activity aims to introduce English language combining several language skills in an integrated manner in order to meet the demands of the ^Merdeka^ curriculum which since 2024 has become mandatory in schools, while there are still many English teachers who are confused about how to organize learning that combines several skills using fictional story media. The specific aim of this activity is to introduce how to train listening, reading, listening, and writing skills through the use of fictional stories that are structured to be more interesting in terms of material, learning activities and learning methods. Allowing the ability to hear, read and write what one understands is believed to be an ability or skill that is no longer very popular these days, considering the increasing craze of students using their gadgets/cellphones so that they are less likely to interact with each other. YPK Hedam Middle School as a religiously affiliated school, namely the Christian Education Foundation, has the characteristics of students who are lack of skills mentioned previously and has 90% of students who are indigenous Papuans as the backbone of the next generation of indigenous Papuans who are good at hearing, reading, listening, understanding and writing what they hear or read well. This activity was carried out for approximately one month, including deepening fictional story material according to characteristics and abilities, determining various and varied learning activities, and also fun and effective teaching methods for students at YPK Hedam Middle School.
