Abstract
Abstract: Geodiversity is a new concept in geoscience field. It provides foundation for the existence life on Earth. It also supports biodiversity and cultural diversity. Hence, geodiversity is essential for maintaining ecosystem, biodiversity and sustainable natural resources. The study of geodiversity is important how ecosystem functions and how natural resources can be managed. When managed properly, geodiversity can be used to reduce disaster risk, improve water quality and ensure the community well-being. To effectively manage geodiversity, it is important to understand the different types of geodiversity present in an area including the landscapes, rock types, minerals and structures. This paper will focus on the principles and benefits in understanding geodiversity for sustainable resources exploitation.
