Abstract
Karangsambung is evidence of the subduction of the Indian-Australian Ocean Plate and the Eurasian Continental Plate which has a complex tectonic series. Karangsambung is closely associated with the formation of Java Island. There are various interesting geological features in this area, one of which is a geothermal manifestation in the form of hot springs in Wadasmalang Village, Karangsambung Subdistrict, located 8 km west of Karangsambung. The method used in this research is literature study of the research area, field mapping to determine the lithology of the research area, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis related to the research area to determine the feasibility as a geosite in the research area. Based on field observations, there are three faults that are oriented North-South, East-West, and Northwest-Southeast which are indicated as controlling the appearance of hot springs in the research area, and the lithology that develops is sandstone which is included in the Penosogan Formation.
