IMPLEMENTATION OF NEPHROLEPIS FOR TEMPERATURE AND AIR HUMIDITY MANAGEMENT ON OWL CAGES IN OIL PALM MINERAL LAND
Lili Dahliani

Vocational School Studies IPB University

Abstract

This study aims to increase the productivity of owl cages inhabited by owls with active productive conditions on mineral land. The increase ranges from 22% to 30% (according to the standard operating procedures set by oil palm plantation companies) by providing Nephrolepis which can affect the temperature and humidity of the air in the owl cage to be comfortable. Place the HTC-1 Thermometer Hygrometer inside the cage and wait until the air temperature and humidity shown on the device no longer changes. Observe the inside of the owl cage, determine the type of owl cage, and record the results of the temperature and humidity measurements with the stationery provided. Observations were made at 2 p.m. garden time. A ladder was used to climb the owl cage which is 4 meters above the ground. The results of this study show that owls are comfortable living at a temperature of 32.9 oC and an air humidity of 62.6%. However, they can still live at 31-32 oC and 70-76% humidity and are actively productive, producing eggs and chicks. Nephrolepis application in owl cages can increase air temperature and humidity. This makes the owls^ comfort level productive.
