Abstract

The design of vocational higher education brings priority in technical skill for learning outcomes. In delivering the process of learning needs to meet industrial situation and the most portion of learning should be practical process than conceptual theory in a class. Supporting mechanical maintenance study program in mechatronic course needs to simulate industrial problem base to give student basic knowledge for how they know the real industry situation. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) becomes main topic on mechatronic course, learning process includes theory and practical part. Two aspect needs to be learned in PLC, programming in software and wiring in hardware. PLC trainer kit has been developed to meet what learning PLC needed. Four control design scenarios have been applied for PLC trainer kit. All scenarios implement ON-OFF controller with two position control for switching on and switching off condition. All scenarios were tested and all scenarios runs as well.
