Learning Model of Qira^at al-Qur^an in Ma^had Aly Central Java Indonesia Universitas Islam Nahdlatul Ulama Jepara Abstract Ma^had Aly is a higher education level of religious studies in pesantren institu-tions. The scientific concentration of Ma^had Aly is very diverse, including the concentration of al-Qur^an science. One of the Qur^anic studies that has urgen-cy and is studied in Ma^had Aly is qira^at al-Qur^an. This study aims to analyze the learning model of qira^at al-Qur^an at Ma^had Aly institutions. The re-search method used is qualitative. This research was conducted at Ma^had Aly takhassus al-Qur^an science in Central Java. The data collection techniques used are observation of the qira^at learning process, interviews, and documen-tation. The results of this study showed that learning model of qira^at in Ma^had Aly can be mapped on two models. Firstly, the classical qira^at learn-ing model. Learning of qira^at al-Qur^an is carried out in class, and becomes part of the Ma^had Aly curriculum. In this model, the qira^at material is taught by undergraduate educators from outside the pesantren. Secondly, a combina-tion of classical and private learning models. There are some Ma^had Aly im-plement qira^at learning classically, using special book teaching materials. In addition, mahasantri are also encouraged to carry out the process of practicing reading the verses of the Qur^an with the recitation of the qira^at sab^ah imam in the presence of teacher. This stage is carried out individually in front of the teacher, known as the musyafahah process with talaqqi and sima^ methods. In Ma^had Aly that applies the talaqqi qira^at sab^ah method, the teacher who lis-tens is the pesantren caregiver or his family.
