Abstract

This study will examine the capacity of learning participation and socioeconomic conditions in reducing multidimensional poverty in the special region of Yogyakarta. Social, cultural, family background, and child welfare factors will determine the direction of the probability of falling into multidimensional poverty. Using data from the national socioeconomic survey (Susenas) and the Poisson regression method, this study will comprehensively analyze the relationship between the factors mentioned in the model and see whether multidimensional poverty can resist overdispersion. This study shows that the level of children^s learning participation, family background, and household welfare can reduce the incidence of households falling into multidimensional poverty. This research will empirically confirm the discrete economic model and provide policy recommendations for local governments to anticipate poverty through education support.
