Optimizing Public Diplomacy: Analyzing Popular Topics in Tweets by Indonesian Representatives Abroad Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta Abstract This research examines using Twitter as a public diplomacy communication platform by Indonesian representatives abroad. Despite the significant growth in the use of Twitter, its potential has yet to be fully optimized by these representatives. The engagement with various topics on Twitter could be more consistent, with some posts garnering significant attention while others do not. This study aims to identify popular topics among netizens by analyzing the 100 most popular tweets from Indonesian representatives based on likes, quotes, and retweets. The study employs Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) to identify the ten most popular topics and the keywords associated with each. The expected outcome is to determine which topics are more likely to make a tweet popular, thereby providing practical insights that can help optimize the use of Twitter for public diplomacy by Indonesian representatives abroad. Keywords: Twitter, public diplomacy, Indonesian representatives, popular tweets, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) Topic: Social Science |
